John Jay

John Jay is development partner of Brompton Asset Management. Prior to that he was New Star Asset Management’s development director, having joined the company on inception after a two-decade career in journalism. He was City Editor of the Sunday Times in 1986, Business Editor of the Sunday Telegraph in 1989 and managing editor of the Sunday Times’ business section in 1995. John has worked in partnership with Simon Patterson on a start-up enterprise linked to incentive compensation design, and has known Simon (and his executive pay database) since the mid-1990s.
